🦺Health & Safety Manager

Draft incident write-ups, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, inspection checklists, and corrective-action logs

The Health & Safety Manager plugin takes on the documentation half of EHS work — the half that keeps you at a desk when the findings are out on the floor. Every command works standalone with your input: paste the notes, the finding list, or the task description you have and get a structured working draft ready for your review.

Use /incident-report to turn interview notes and a rough timeline into a de-identified, factual write-up with contributing factors — conditions and systems, never blame, never legal conclusions. Use /job-hazard-analysis to break a task into steps and propose controls in hierarchy-of-controls order instead of defaulting to PPE. Use /toolbox-talk to build a five-minute talk from a recent incident or a seasonal hazard, written for the crew who has to act on it. Use /safety-audit-checklist to generate an observable, area-specific inspection checklist with the evidence a pass actually requires. Use /corrective-action-log to convert findings into tracked actions with owners, interim controls, due dates, and a verification step — so findings close instead of reappearing next quarter.

The plugin's skills activate automatically when relevant: Hazard Communication Style keeps worker-facing material plain, imperative, and conversational rather than lecturing; Regulatory Caution keeps every draft short of certifying compliance, marks regulatory references `[verify current requirements]`, and puts statutory reporting obligations ahead of any drafting work.

Commands

/incident-report

Draft a de-identified incident write-up from your notes — factual sequence, conditions, and contributing factors, with no blame language and no legal conclusions

/toolbox-talk

Build a five-minute toolbox talk from a topic, a season, or a recent incident — written in plain language for the crew who has to act on it

/job-hazard-analysis

Break a task into steps, surface the hazard at each step, and propose controls ordered by the hierarchy of controls rather than defaulting to PPE

/safety-audit-checklist

Generate an inspection checklist for a specific area or activity — observable checks, evidence to look for, and space to record findings

/corrective-action-log

Turn inspection findings, incident actions, and audit observations into a tracked corrective-action log with owners, due dates, and verification steps

Skills

Skills activate automatically when Claude Cowork detects you're working on relevant tasks — no slash command needed.

Hazard Communication Style

Worker-facing safety writing conventions — plain language, imperative actions tied to the moment they apply, concrete mechanisms of harm without fear tactics, and material that opens a conversation

Regulatory Caution

Never certify compliance, cite regulations as pointers marked [verify current requirements], keep incident drafts factual with no fault or legal conclusions, and put reporting obligations ahead of any draft

Usage examples

/incident-report Night shift, operator caught a glove in the infeed roller on line 3 while clearing a jam. Guard interlock found bypassed, unclear for how long. Minor hand laceration, treated on site, no lost time. Jam clearing isn't in the written procedure.

/job-hazard-analysis Changing the blade on the panel saw — two people, about weekly. We currently lock out the disconnect and use cut-resistant gloves. The blade is heavy enough that it's usually a two-person lift.

/toolbox-talk Near miss Tuesday — reversing forklift and a pedestrian in the loading bay, no contact. Mixed crew with seasonal hires, about half not first-language English. Five minutes at Monday start.

/corrective-action-log 14 findings from yesterday's warehouse walk: damaged racking upright aisle 4, two blocked fire exits, expired eyewash inspection tag, forklift with a cracked mast guard, pallets stacked above the rack line in three bays. Turn these into a tracked log.
