Claude Cowork is Anthropic's agentic workspace inside the Claude apps. Instead of chatting back and forth, you give Claude a job — and it does the work and hands back a finished deliverable, using installable Agent Skills (plugins) built for your profession. Think of it less like a chatbot and more like a junior teammate that already knows your work.

For tasks with no cleaner shortcut, Claude can operate your apps — click, type, navigate — the way a person would. A last resort, not a daily driver: it asks before acting and you can stop it anytime.

Yes — through Dispatch. Dispatch is one continuous conversation that spans the Claude mobile app and your desktop: you can assign a task from your phone, step away, and pick up the finished work on your computer. The heavy lifting still runs on the desktop app; Dispatch is the remote control.
In a real folder on your computer, tied to a Project. Cowork builds context in that folder over time — your documents, the Project's instructions, and its memory all persist there — rather than living inside a disposable chat. You decide which folders and connectors Claude can touch.
A persistent dashboard Cowork can produce as a deliverable and keep updated in place — rather than rebuilding a report every month, you reopen the artifact and it reflects the latest data. Live Artifacts don't have public share links yet, so to send one to a client you export it (e.g., as a PDF). Still one of the things chat-only AI tools can't replicate.

Paid plans add usage headroom and unlock plugin installs: Pro (~$20/month) is the fit for most professionals; the Max plans add higher usage limits.
