Cowork and chat are merging into one Claude (announced Sept 16, 2026). Anthropic says Free follows "soon"; it has not said Free gets the Cowork features that are paid-only today.
Pro ($20/mo, $17/mo annual) adds Opus 5.5, Cowork, Claude Code, Claude Docs and Slides (beta), Claude Design, Claude in Chrome, and Microsoft 365, plus the option to buy Fable 5.1 usage credits.

Does this tool work with ChatGPT?
The tool itself runs on Claude (Anthropic) right here on the page — you don't need any AI subscription to use it. Everything it generates is plain text, so you can paste the output into ChatGPT, a document, or an email and keep working there. If you mainly work in ChatGPT, you can also reuse your inputs there to refine further.

Does the paid AI Operating System work with ChatGPT?
Yes — each AI Operating System is written and tested for Claude, and every one includes a portable prompts-only set that works in ChatGPT and Gemini (copy and paste, occasionally with a minor tweak). The Cowork plugin editions specifically require a paid Claude plan.
